Express Entry

 

 

If you want to come to Canada as a skilled immigrant,  you will first have to become a candidate in the Express Entry pool.

 

 

If you are eligible:

​

 

  1. You will be placed in a pool with others who are also eligible.

  2. You will be given a rank using several factors, and  

  3. If you are one of the top candidates, you will be invited to apply to be a permanent resident of Canada.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria:

 

You will need to meet the criteria of one of the Federal Immigration programs subject to Express Entry:

 

 

Comprehensive Ranking System Formula:

 

 

All Express Entry candidates are given a score out of 1,200, based on the four parts of the Comprehensive Ranking System formula:

 

  • Skills and experience factors (that we know are key to economic success for immigrants once in Canada)

  • Spouse or common-law partner factors (such as their language skills and education – these are known to result in better economic success for both the spouse or common-law partner and the candidate)

  • Skills transferability (including education and work experience – factors that when combined, result in better chances of being employed, and higher earnings)

  •           Additional: Up to 600 points for:

  • Canadian degrees, diplomas or certificates

  • a valid job offer

  • a nomination from a province or territory

  • a brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident

  • strong French language skills​​​

 

  •          Your Total Score = Core Score + Additional Points
